H went swimming with a neighbor girl this weekend. I walked her over their house and the wife invited me in for a cup of coffee. I felt so grown up. Anyway, so she's filling me in on all the crap going on around the neighborhood. One of the families in the hood are a married couple and their three kids. A set of 6 yr old (girl and boy) twins and a 8 yr old girl. They live in the wife's parents house. With the parents. yes... she doesn't work either. Four adults and 3 children in ONE house. That's a whole other story though...
Anyway, the 9 yr old stayed over at this ladies (our neighborhood friends) house with her daughter who is 7 and my daughter who is 6 (ALMOST 7, she'd say). Apparently, the 8yr old asked the 7yr old, So, Are your parents having sex? (not as in, right NOW, but in general) Yes.. .nice huh. So of course, the 7 yr old told her mom what she asked and said that she didn't know what to tell her. Yeah, it's nice that now the mom had to have the "Sex" talk with her 7 yr old daughter.
THEN, she tells me that their mom tells them they can get on Google and search for whatever they want. What do they search for? Bloody Mary. Yeah, the wives tail about the lady who kills children. Scared the 7 yr old so bad she went home crying and would only whisper it to her mom because she was afraid to say it out loud for fear of being killed.
Uh, ever heard of being a "parent" lady? Seriously, you cant just let your kids roam free on the internet these days!!
Yesterday, we wouldn't let H go into their house all afternoon. Told her she had to play outside. Figured I would have to go over and have a talk with the kids' mom and let her know that H isn't allowed on the computer at all at their house. Need to talk to her before I let H go to their house again. Talk about being irresponsible!!
